Quinn is a former entrepreneur in the health technology space, and has previously designed and implemented primary healthcare systems across South East Asia. He has spoken internationally on social entrepreneurship and healthcare, authored a book on social entrepreneurship, and conducted research on mobile health technology and social network analysis.

Samin Khan
CTO & Co-Founder

Samin was the 2018 world champion of Microsoft’s Imagine Cup - a technology & innovation competition with over 40,000 competing teams worldwide, where he developed an AI-driven robotic prosthetic arm. Upon realizing a passion for tackling AI-human design problems from an empathy-driven lens, Samin became a mental health and AI researcher for the University of Toronto and Vector Institute. His works focuses on the study of psychological needs through a computational linguistics and machine learning framework, which fuels the models used by Animo today.

Jake is a graduate from the University of Toronto, where he majored in Statistics and Cognitive Science. He's passionate about sports analytics, music, and podcasts! If you see him, he's probably navigating through the seas of Twitter!

Yiqi has just returned from a year long photography trip around the world, visiting 21 countries. While abroad he founded his own photography company and also published a photography book. Prior to his trip, he worked as an auditor of financial institutions while obtaining his CPA. He has now transitioned into a software developer after discovering a passion for coding. He enjoys reading and playing basketball or golf in his spare time.

Srishti is a graduate from  University of Toronto's Engineering Science program where she has co-authored 8 peer-reviewed publications, mostly in the machine learning space. In her spare time, she plays open-world adventure games, tries out random recipes (without burning the house down), dances Bhartanatyam, and reads up on the latest machine learning developments in the community. If you see her around, she's probably eating and/or thinking about food!

Nicole is an Industrial Designer with a background in Healthcare Technology and Telemedicine, who has dedicated most of her work to organizations and clients focused on improving health through human-centric design. Ask her about any kind of design and she’s probably had a chance to interact with it!

Serena is a computer scientist with experience in natural language processing and machine learning for healthcare in a number of languages. In addition to research, she aims to bring cutting edge artificial intelligence developments into the real world, and apply them for the greater good. She is also passionate about increasing diversity in tech and machine learning. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Toronto and an affiliate of the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence.

Anoma is a student at the University of Toronto, majoring in Psychology and Neurscience. She contributes to research in the fields of developmental psychology and self determination theory – and helps design Animo's product around validated psychology theories.

His work in natural language and speech processing is multidisciplinary and involves machine learning, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, computer vision, speech-language pathology, rehabilitation engineering, digital signal processing and linguistics.

Daniel is a serial entrepreneur, passionate community builder, and expert on the sharing economy. After creating, building and selling his last two venture-backed companies (guiides.com and ShareShed), Daniel joined Airbnb full-time, where he led and managed growth in their top tier markets, until his departure to co-found Key, a real-estate tech company set to change how homes are purchased and sold.
